Graduation Policy
Requirements for transfer students will be determined on the basis of their successful completion of the minimum load requirements of the school previously attended. State and local standards may also limit flexibility.
All students will be required to carry a minimum of (7) credits per year. Students must complete at least twenty-five (25) credits for graduation. Students who are not in attendance at Northland Pines High School for their entire senior year may not be eligible for a diploma from Northland Pines High School.

SPECIFIC COURSE/CREDIT REQUIREMENTS
The following credits* (See notes below) must be earned in order to qualify for graduation. English* 4 credits (min. one credit per year 9-12) Mathematics 3 credits (min one credit per year 9-11) Science ** 3 credits (min one credit per year 9-11) Social Studies *** 3 credits (min. one credit per year 9-11) Physical Education 1.5 credits (min of 1/2 credit per year 9-11) Health .50 credit Economics/Personal Finance .50 credit Electives 9.50 credits
Must include these courses: * English I, II, and IIIA ** Applied Science and Biology *** U.S. History - 1 credit (required freshmen year) World History – 1 credit or Global Studies - 1 credit Political Science - .5 credit AND American Society - .5 credit

Other graduation requirements:
- The Wisconsin State Civics Test: As a state requirement: each student MUST pass the test with a score of at least 65, to be eligible for graduation.
- Service to Community: all students will need to complete 10 hours per year. (7th - 12th Grade)
- Academic and Career Planning (ACP) Senior Interviews: Seniors will share experiences from high school and plans for after high school.
STUDENTS MUST EARN 25 CREDITS TO GRADUATE In accordance with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction guidelines, exceptions to the above may be granted by the principal of the school if he/she deems such to be appropriate and for the benefit of the individual students involved. The criteria for such exceptions shall be determined by the principal and may include written and/or oral examinations if such are considered as essential to proper determination of pupil placements.
