At Northland Pines High School we feel that it is critically important to represent student learning, academic achievement and behaviors or the character of our students as equally important but separate reporting measures. While students will be given an academic grade, students will also be given Character Grades from each teacher. Although there may at times be a relationship between the two the are separate entities. The character grades will continue to be on the report cards of our students. The areas of the four character grades will be as follows: • Responsible for learning: Organized, prepared & work completed. • Respects students, staff and facilities. • Actively engages in classroom learning. • Safely and appropriately utilizes technology.
Students will be given a score in each of these four areas using the numbers 1, 2, 3 or 4 with 4 being the highest score possible. Please follow the rubric below.
