St. Germain Elementary School and the Northland Pines Montessori Learning Center use the Virtues Program to help teach the whole child and teach students citizenship skills, and soft skills that they need to be successful in school and beyond. Each week a new Virtue is introduced to the students and they do activities and learning around these Virtues throughout the week. There are 52 Virtues students learn about but a few examples are Perseverance, Kindness, Respect, Integrity and Caring. There are regular celebrations that include teachers, families and students to recognize students for using their Virtues. The Virtues program helps foster a positive classroom environment in which students respect each other and themselves.
