Welcome to Northland Pines Montessori Learning Center! I am honored and excited to join this incredible school community as your principal. Northland Pines Montessori Learning Center is a public charter school within the Northland Pines School District, serving approximately 72 students in 4K through fourth grade. Our mission is to support the whole child, socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually, through the Montessori approach to education.
Developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, the Montessori philosophy is built on the belief that children learn best when they are actively engaged, encouraged to be independent, and given the freedom to explore within thoughtfully prepared environments. For more than 100 years, Montessori education has inspired students around the world to become curious learners, critical thinkers, collaborative problem-solvers, and compassionate citizens.
At Northland Pines Montessori Learning Center, students learn in multi-age classrooms where they have opportunities to learn from one another, develop leadership skills, and grow at their own pace. Our hands-on learning experiences encourage children to build a deep understanding of concepts by moving from concrete experiences to abstract thinking. Through purposeful exploration and meaningful work, students develop confidence, responsibility, and a lifelong love of learning.
As an educator, I believe that every child deserves to feel a strong sense of belonging and to be challenged, supported, and celebrated throughout their educational journey. My leadership philosophy is centered on building meaningful relationships, creating inclusive learning environments, and ensuring every student receives high-quality instruction that meets their individual strengths and needs. These beliefs align beautifully with the Montessori philosophy and the personalized learning experiences our students enjoy each day.
Our school is also fortunate to be surrounded by incredible natural learning opportunities. Located on the beautiful St. Germain campus, our students have access to gardens, an apple orchard, pumpkin patch, a school pond, and miles of hiking trails that extend learning beyond the classroom and foster a deep appreciation for the natural world.
The success of our school is made possible through the strong partnership between our dedicated staff, supportive families, and engaged community. We value these relationships and believe that when schools and families work together, children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
