Welcome to Eagle River Elementary School (ERES)!
Eagle River Elementary School proudly serves as the largest elementary school in the district, offering students a wide range of opportunities to learn, grow, and discover their strengths. Our size allows us to provide diverse programming, tiered learning supports, and enriching experiences. At the same time, we remain deeply committed to knowing every child as an individual and creating a supportive, welcoming environment where students feel connected, challenged, and celebrated.
At Eagle River Elementary, our focus is clear: strong relationships, strong instruction, and strong outcomes for students. We believe that when families and schools work together, students thrive. This year, we are intentionally strengthening family and community partnerships while continuing our commitment to high-quality, research-based instruction.
Building Strong Family & Community Connections
Family engagement is a cornerstone of our work at ERES. Our staff has been collaborating to reflect on how we communicate, connect, and partner with families in meaningful ways. Through this work, our Climate and Culture Committee is developing a three-year Family Engagement Plan designed to increase participation, collaboration, and shared ownership in our school community.
In partnership with our ERES PTO, we are expanding after-school events and opportunities for families to connect with one another and with staff. We are also proud of our growing relationships with local businesses and community partners, who help link classroom learning to real-world experiences. These partnerships enrich learning and strengthen our community, and we are always excited to welcome new collaborators.
A Strong Focus on Literacy & Student Achievement
Over the past two years, our 4K–3 teachers have engaged in extensive Science of Reading professional learning, ensuring students build strong foundational reading skills. Across all grade levels, teachers use high-quality curriculum, local assessments, and a Multi-Level System of Support (MLSS) to provide targeted instruction for every learner.
Assessment data helps us identify student strengths and needs, and teachers work collaboratively to design What I Need (WIN) groups, providing small-group instruction for both enrichment and intervention. This intentional, data-informed approach is making a difference. This is reflected in a steady decrease in the number of students requiring Personalized Reading Plans (PRPs) over time and increased proficiency rates.
