Soy la maestra de español aquí en la escuela secundaria de Northland Pines.  Mi  afición por aprender idiomas del mundo empezó durante mis años escolares donde yo empecé a aprender el francés.  Luego en mi clase de francés del segundo año supe de la oportunidad de ser una estudiante de intercambio de Rotary.  Me eligieron a ser una estudiante de intercambio por un año a Brasil durante mi tercer año de la escuela secundaria.  Yo no había tomado ningunas clases formales de portugués pero después de tres meses yo estaba hablando bien y aun soñando en portugués.

Cuando volví a los Estados Unidos entré en la clase de español III como una senior en la escuela secundaria.  Yo continué mis estudios de español durante mis años en la universidad y pasé un verano estudiando en Oaxaca, México.  Yo recibí mi licenciatura en español de la Universidad de Wisconsin-Madison y mi licencia de enseñar de Saint Norbert College.  Yo enseñe el español en la escuela secundaria en el Districto Escolar de la Comunidad de Pulaski por 5 años donde yo acompañé a 13 estudiantes a una experiencia de estudio de dos semanas en Cuernavaca, México.  También enseñé el español a los estudiantes del séptimo y octavo años en la Escuela Arbor Vitae-Woodruff por 3 años y media.  Disfruto mucho viajar y he viajado a México como un puñado de veces; también yo viajé de mochila por España y Europa Occidental con mi esposo. 

Me encanto enseñar el español a los jóvenes y quiero que mis estudiantes tengan éxito en aprender el idioma español.  Por este sitio del web espero crear un lugar donde estudiantes pueden venir y buscar información para ayudarles a aprender el idioma español con mucho éxito.

My love for learning world languages began early on in school where I started learning French.   Then in my sophomore French class I learned about the opportunity to become a Rotary youth exchange student.  I was elected to represent Rotary for a one year student exchange to Brazil during my junior year of high school.  I hadn’t taken any formal Portuguese classes prior but after 3 months I was speaking well and even dreaming in Portuguese.

Upon my return I entered into Spanish III as a senior in high school.  I continued studying Spanish through college and spent a summer studying abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico.  I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and my teaching certification from St. Norbert College.  I taught high school Spanish at Pulaski Community School District for 5 years where I chaperoned 13 students for a two week study abroad experience in Cuernavaca, Mexico.  I also taught 7th & 8th grade Spanish at Arbor Vitae-Woodruff School for 3½ years.  I enjoy traveling and have been to Mexico a handful of times, as well as back packed through Spain and throughout Western Europe with my husband. 

I love teaching Spanish to young people and I want my students to be successful in learning the Spanish language.  Through this webpage I hope to create a place where students can come to find information to aid them in successfully learning the Spanish language.
