My name is Dan Marien and I am new to the Northland Pines School District for the 2014-2015 school year. I am the assistant principal at Northland Pines High School and I am very excited to be in this modern building and district. I am excited about the state of the art facilities that our students and staff have the fortune of using every day as well as all of the offerings our students get to choose from, both academically and extracurricular.

I have been a teacher of technology education the last 7 years. I have taught in the city of Milwaukee at an inner city school and also in a very rural district smaller than Northland Pines. My last 3 years I taught at Brown Deer Middle/High School in Brown Deer just north of Milwaukee. I look forward to working here as an administrator.

I have a family that is moving to Eagle River and will be attending schools within our district as well. My wife and I have three boys. I have an athletic background and my two older boys do as well. I have coached youth hockey for almost 10 years as well as coaching baseball from youth through the high school varsity level. Most of my free time is spent with my family at sporting events. I also enjoy fishing, riding ATVs and also riding my motorcycle.

My family and I are excited to make the north woods, and more specifically the Northland Pines School District our home. GO EAGLES!!!
