Computer Technology, ACP, and School-to-Work at Northland Pines Middle & High School Email Phone: 715-479-4473 ext. 1108 Adam Matyska is in his seventh year teaching Computer Applications, Technology, and 21st Century Skills to grades 7 & 8 at Northland Pines Middle School. From time to time he also teaches high school courses such as Intro to Web Design and Intro to Video Production.
In addition to this, Mr. Matyska is now oversees the NPHS Youth Apprenticeship and School-to-Work program and works closely with the Guidance department on School to Work opportunities for NPHS students.
In his career, he has taught a wide variety of courses, mainly in Computer Applications, Mechanical and Architectural CAD, Graphics, Digital Photography, Woods Manufacturing, Welding, Small Engines, and pre-engineering courses for over a dozen years at Rhinelander's high school and James Williams Middle School, as well as a short stint at Rib Lake schools.
Mr. Matyska's educational philosophy includes building appropriate relationships in a safe, inclusive classroom community, giving students the chance to explore 21st-century technology tools in our interconnected, digital world.
When not teaching, Mr. Matyska enjoys spending time with his wife and 8-year-old son in Wisconsin's northwoods, doing activities including traveling, canoeing, hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking, running, 4-wheeling, biking, cross-country skiing, cutting trees, snowshoeing and watching pro sports including the Packers and Brewers.
He is also an experienced speaker/host/emcee, speaking at and hosting a variety of school, community, and religious events as well as doing sports public-address announcing, sportswriting, and radio play-by-play.
