Senufo Mud Painting

In connection with their studies of Africa, students explored the "make your own bogolofini" web site and learned about the African Art of mud painting.  The children used clay and pigmented it with acrylic paint.  After creating their designs they painted them with our "mud."  When the mud dried they washed the mud out of the fabric.  This left a stain of color on the fabric. Below is a link to the web site we explored.  The children were also inspired by the African Music that we listened to while they worked.
